All about me
I am a university qualified dietitian and nutritionist, full-time PhD student, wife, and busy mum to 3 boys (8, 6 and 1 years old). I became interested in nutrition when I fell pregnant with my eldest, and my love for it has grown ever since. I am a passionate supporter of the Health at Every Size approach to health and well-being, and believer that for most people, optimum nutrition can be achieved through eating real foods.
My hobbies (when I have time!) include not making it to the gym nearly as much as I should, reading, binge watching TV series, and drinking more coffee than is probably good for me. I’m an everything-tarian – I don’t follow any particular diet. I love to cook, hate to bake, but mostly just love to eat. If you invite me to a party I’ll bring a salad or veggies and dip, but you’ll probably find me hanging by the cheese platter.
Education
I completed my Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Hons Class 1) at the University of Newcastle in 2014. My research is looking closer at the role of Omega-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids in the prevention of metabolic dysfunction, and in particular the development of Type 2 Diabetes. To find more on my research, you can find a list of my publications on Research Gate.
